Just a girl and a small town dream.....       

        Southern Roots of Crandall was established in 2017 by salon owner Cameo O'rear. Cameo has been a busy, behind-the-chair stylist since 2007. She began her career in Mesquite until 2015 when she was given the opportunity to relocate her clientele to her hometown of Crandall, Texas which ultimately was the gateway to following her dream! Over the next two years she stayed on top of the hair trends, built her clientele even more, hired an amazing assistant (Katelyn) and often wondered if she could ever take the leap of faith and open up her own shop. Cameo had a vision, a dream, a strong desire to not only open a salon but to build a business full of women who shared the same passion she did. For over a year she looked at locations, priced out equipment, scribbled out plans but had lots of sleepless nights and dead end leads. She was almost to the point of giving up. One day driving down 741 in Crandall she prayed for God to give her a sign, "If this is meant to be or not just lead me where I'm supposed to be. Cameo let the idea rest for a bit and life continued as usual. Then one day a few weeks later her husband Justin ran across an empty building, he called and sent pictures but Cameo wasn't convinced. It was empty, dim, had dark walls, concrete multi colored floors...... it needed alot of work. But after stepping inside, speaking with the owner, negotiating rent... "in my heart I just knew", this was it! After lots of prayers & second guesses she had the keys to suite 900 also known as the "Old gun shop". She signed the lease and demo started immediately! One of her sweetest memories was prior to painting, Cameo brought her three stylist in and they all wrote special quotes on the wall, she believed those words would always be the reasons behind the salon! It took 45 long days of hard work to get the shop demoed, painted, furnished and up to code so they could officially open doors! In August of 2017 her prayers were answered, Southern Roots of Crandall hit the map and its only gotten better! "I couldn't have asked for a better team"! The salon now has six full time stylist, two junior stylist and one nail technician. We have grown to be one of the trendiest spots in town! With hot pink doors and an aroma you could die for, the salon boast a fun, sassy yet relaxing atmosphere. Grab a glass of wine and get comfy!  "We strive to please our ladies and make them feel absolutely amazing".
